Booking & Preparation
How do I book a climb with Wild Buck Adventure?
You can book directly through our website, email us, or contact our team via phone or WhatsApp.
A deposit is required to secure your spot, with the balance due before the climb.
What is the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?
Though we do offer climbs year round, the best times to climb are during the dry seasons: January–March and June–October. These periods offer the best weather conditions and clearer summit views.
Do I need prior climbing experience?
No technical climbing experience is needed, but a good level of fitness is recommended. Regular hiking and cardio training will help you prepare.
Which Kilimanjaro route is best?
The best route depends on your preference, Though Lemosho and Machame have a more balanced itinerary every route has its own merit.
•Marangu Route – Shortest but with hut accommodations.
•Machame Route – Popular, scenic, and challenging.
•Lemosho Route – Most scenic with great acclimatization.
•Rongai Route – Less crowded, approaching from the north.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 months in advance, especially for high-season climbs.
Do you offer group discounts?

What about altitude sickness?
Altitude sickness is common but manageable. We follow a slow acclimatization approach, monitor climbers daily, and provide oxygen if needed.
Do I need vaccinations or medications?
Yellow fever vaccination is required if traveling from a country with yellow fever. We recommend malaria prevention, typhoid, hepatitis, and routine vaccinations.
What if I get sick or can’t continue?
Our guides are trained in first aid, Wildlife First Response, and altitude sickness management. If needed, we arrange safe descent and evacuation.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation.
Packing & Gear
What gear do I need?
You’ll need proper trekking boots, warm clothing, a sleeping bag, and personal items. We provide a full packing list upon booking and we also have in-house equipment ready to be rented at a moment's notice.
Can I rent gear?
Yes, we offer rental gear, including sleeping bags, trekking poles, and warm jackets.
During the Climb
What is included in my climb package?
Our packages typically include park fees, guides, porters, meals, accommodation during the climb, accommodations in Arusha for one night before and after the hike, and transportation to and from the trailhead.
How many people are in a group?
We keep group sizes small for better safety and experience, typically 6–10 climbers. Private climbs are available upon request.
What is the daily hiking schedule like?
We start early in the morning, hike for 4–7 hours, with rest stops and lunch. Evenings include a hot meal and briefing for the next day.
What kind of food is provided?
We provide fresh, nutritious meals including soups, pasta, rice, vegetables, fruits, and protein options. We cater to dietary needs upon request.
Where do we sleep?
Most routes use tents provided by us, except the Marangu route, which has hut accommodations.
After the Climb
Do I get a certificate after reaching the summit?
Yes! Climbers who reach Uhuru Peak receive an official Kilimanjaro summit certificate.
What else can I do in Tanzania after my climb?
We offer safaris, cultural tours, and Zanzibar beach trips to make your adventure even more memorable.
